Four year old Lydia is incredibly thoughtful and caring. She loves taking care of her cats and dog. She treates her baby dolls like real babies and loves to hold them and sing to them. She loves jumping on the trampoline, swimming, painting and helping Papa cook in the kitchen. She also loves to read and has been very quick to pickup writing her alphabet and her numbers.
Lydia was diagnosed at the age of two with Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), a rare speech disorder in which children have trouble controlling their lips, jaws and tongues when speaking. Lydia has made great progress in Speech Therapy but CAS has long term ramifications and she still has a long way to go.
